The frame tells a story. When you are the only thing in it, as in an audition tape, everything you do tells that story. Our work is to remove what doesn’t belong so that the only story being conveyed is your interpretation of the text, expressed through a compelling character, within the limitations of what’s available to you in an audition: your body, your voice, and the way you use them in the frame. I don’t direct. Instead I work with your impulses. As an actor, I know that actors know the character best because it arrives from deep within their unconscious impulses and imaginations. My job is to help bring out what is latent, and shape what is already there until the story told through the frame is undeniably truthful. When we work in this way, it’s fun! You forget all about the stresses of the audition and taping process. I also have tricks and hacks for last minute or text-heavy auditions, so you never have to worry about not knowing all your lines ever again. Sounds too good to be true? What if auditioning could be this fun all the time?

How do I book a session?
The easiest way to book a session is through the online scheduler. You can select the type of appointment you want plus any extras, and check availability right through the site.
What if I don't see the time I need on the online scheduler?
Email or call 347-949-8825. I might be able to squeeze you in!
How do I cancel or reschedule a session?
Email or call 347.949.8825. Please note that if you cancel your session within 24 hours of your appointment time you will be responsible for the entire session fee.
What is your cancellation policy?
Please allow at least 24 hours for rescheduling or cancellations. If you cancel or reschedule within 24 hours of your session you will be responsible for the entire session fee.
How much time should I book?
It depends on how much material you need to shoot and how prepared you are. Keep in mind that your session starts when you walk in the door. Unless you’re a one take wonder, you might want to make sure you have enough time to do a few takes without worrying about the clock ticking. Please be sure to book enough time if the material you are preparing requires a change of clothing. You are welcome to come early and prepare before your session stars, but keep in mind that any look changes during your session will be included in the session time. The session time you book includes review of footage. This can take up to ten minutes, sometimes longer, depending on the length and number of takes, so allow for ample time when booking. If you are booking a Budget session, please factor in at least five minutes of transfer time, depending on your device and amount of footage.
What color is the background?
The background is primary blue so other solid neutral colors work best. White can work too. Avoid red and patterns. And primary blue 🙂
Will you provide a reader?
Yes. All taping sessions include a great reader (me!) I am not able to provide a gender-specific reader, however you are welcome to bring one along!
Can you do a Vimeo upload?
Yes! If casting requests a Vimeo upload you will receive a link to a streaming, downloadable and private Vimeo video.
Where are you located?
The Studio is conveniently located on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, right off the Q train stop at 72nd Street. 10 minutes from Midtown, 15 minutes from Union Square.
